SYS-CON Events announced today that AppZero, pioneer in server-side application virtualization, was named "Silver Sponsor" of the 4th International Cloud Computing Conference & Expo, which will be taking place November 2-4, 2009 at the Santa Clara Convention Center, Santa Clara, CA.
AppZero software virtualizes Windows and Unix server applications for nearly instant provisioning as services across a network, on any server (physical or virtual), in the datacenter or in the cloud.
First to market with a toolset for virtualizing server-side applications, AppZero has pioneered the Virtual Application Appliance (VAA), in which an application is encapsulated with all of its dependencies - but without any operating system (OS) component. The result is server applications that are 100% portable with zero footprint and performance near native levels.
For enterprises and ISVs intrigued by the capital-free potential of pay-as-you-go-computing, AppZero provides a smooth on-ramp to the cloud without any cloud lock-in. Requiring no modification to existing applications, AppZero makes it technically easy and economically sensible to explore and exploit cloud computing.
SYS-CON's Cloud Computing Expo is the fastest-growing conference anywhere in the world focused on the subject of delivering massively scalable IT as a service using Internet technologies.
The conference is co-located at the Santa Clara Convention Center with the 7th International Virtualization Conference & Expo.
AppZero's President & CEO, Greg O'Connor, will be participating in a fast-moving "Power Panel" moderated by Cloud Computing Expo Conference Chair Jeremy Geelan. He will also be delivering a 45-minute breakout session in the Keynote Room -- Case Study: Fortune100 data center provisions to and from * Cloud with Virtual Application Appliances
O'Connor is responsible for translating AppZero's vision into strategic business objectives and financial results. He has over 25 years of management and technical experience in the computer industry, having previously been founder and president of Sonic Software, acquired in 2005 by Progress Software (PRGS). There he grew the company from concept to over $40 million in revenue. At Sonic, he evangelized and created the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) product category, which is generally accepted today as the foundation for Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). With 100+ breakout and general sessions carefully chosen to provide delegates with the chance to explore all aspects of the cloud paradigm that might be relevant to their business - Internal, Private, Public and Hybrid cloud environments - the event is now held three times year, in New York, Silicon Valley, and Europe.
