"Ruby on Rails has come to be the default choice for open-source developers creating public web and departmental applications in just a few short years," they write in outlining their session. "Although Twitter is the highest profile user, there are thousands of developers using Ruby on Rails (and its JVM version, JRuby) to create departmental and enterprise applications on enterprise clouds."

"In this session we'll talk about the architecture and benefits of a Rails-based Platform-as-a-Service built on Enterprise Cloud infrastructure, and how it can help developers directly access and manage IT resources for their application development and deployment needs."

Jason Lochhead is responsible for the technological development of Terremark’s hosting services. He oversees the overall technology direction of the Company’s hosting business, and is the architect of Terremark’s acclaimed utility computing platform, Infinistructure. He is also the architect of Terremark’s Enterprise Cloud, the company’s cloud computing product.

Prior to joining Terremark, Jason co-founded Data Return, a hosting company often rated among the best in the industry. During his 11 years at Data Return, he worked in various positions, including research and development, architecture and technology executive positions.

Tom Mornini is Co-Founder of Engine Yard. He co-founded the company to provide the infrastructure and support necessary to fuel development of Ruby on Rails applications. He has spent nearly 30 years as a software programmer and software architect and 20 years leading companies as a serial entrepreneur.
